Tragic Celebrity Gem Super Sale: Anne Hathaway’s Jewelry Auction
The princess of The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway’s jewelry items confiscated by the FBI. The jewelry belonging to actress Hathaway which was gifted from ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is now up for auction. Follieri pleaded guilty to wire fraud and money laundering for swindling over $50 million from investors by claiming he had inside ties to the Vatican in August 2008. He was sentenced to 4 and 1/2 years in prison for all of his charges.
Anne Hathaway’s all personal items received from ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, be permanently relinquished to the United States government. The auction will be online for 30 days beginning December 12, 2010. Hathaway was offered the chance to bid for the jewelry first but the actress has declined with an indication that she just wants this chapter behind her.
The jewelry items up for auction include a $25,000 gold Rolex watch, a pair of silver diamond earrings, a silver chain with a cross pendant, two gold ring, a five-strand pearl necklace, a Louis Vuitton box, a Cartier figurine and a Tiffany clock which range from $5,000 to $25,000 in value.
